ArtSpan is committed to cultivating a vibrant, accessible, and world-class art community in San Francisco and to promoting the city's unique creative energy locally and globally. We champion an inclusive art experience by providing hundreds of local artists with the equal opportunity to showcase their work and make direct connections to diverse audiences and patrons. We are guided by the belief that artists play a vital role in society and that broad public engagement with their work is essential to defining a new cultural environment for our changing city.
About ArtSpan Programs
In addition to the flagship SF Open Studios Program, ArtSpan offers year-round programing for artists, collectors, supporters, and the general public. Programs that serve the artist community include Art-in-Neighborhoods Exhibitions, Artist Professional Development Workshops, Studio Residencies, and Artist Networking Mixers. ArtSpan’s Art Curious Program serves art enthusiasts through presenting a series of events designed for art collectors and those interested in learning about local art. Other annual programming includes ArtSpan’s Benefit Art Auction in the spring, and various fundraising events throughout the year. Currently, ArtSpan is in the midst of a capital campaign which will fund the creation and development of the ArtSpan Onondaga Art Center, planned to open in the Excelsior District in 2020.
